The redness, or erythema, will gradually subside but can take up to four weeks to resolve. It is imperative to avoid picking at the skin and keep it protected with a skin barrier ointment like Aquaphor.

A broad-spectrum sunblock should be used on a daily basis, and it’s best to avoid direct sun exposure for at least six weeks post-treatment.
